You can seamlessly add your phone or headset to your Unite for Teams Advanced Solution. No technical installation if necessary. Simply connect your phone to the internet or plug your headset into your computer, and you’re all set. For more information, read our support article.


Does the Unite for Teams Advanced integration include SMS and advanced calling functions?

Yes, if you are on the Unite for Teams Advanced license you have the ability to text external numbers, as well as use advanced calling features like call queuing and certain call center features (monitor, whisper, barge) all within the Unite tab in Teams.


What is the difference between the “Calls” tab and the “Unite” tab in Teams?

The Unite tab in Teams is used to access all of your Unite communication features such as internal and external calling, SMS, voicemail, etc. The Calls tab in Teams can only be used to call contacts within your organization. The Calls tab in Teams can easily be removed by right-clicking on the Calls tab and selecting Unpin.

Step 1: Pin the Unite Teams Embedded App to Your Teams Desktop

Once the Unite Teams Embedded App is available within an organization each user will need to access it and pin it to the sidebar in MS Teams.

  1. Login to MS Teams
  2. Select the Apps option in the sidebar to open the MS Teams App Store and select Built for your org
  3. Add the Unite TeamEmbedded Teams App
  4. Right-click on the Unite Team Embedded App icon on the sidebar and select ‘Pin’ to ensure that the App always remains visible

Step 3: Download and Install the Mobile App

Scan this QR code to install the Unite Mobile App on your device.

Step 2: Install the Unite Teams Desktop Plugin and Log in to Your Account

Now, download the Unite Teams Desktop Plugin installer by clicking the download link in the Unite Teams Embedded App. Launch the installer and accept the license terms. Then, log in to your account using your Unite login credentials.

Follow these steps to set up Unite within your Teams app

Meetings: Start and join meetings

Files: Access, share, and manage files  

Collaborate in Teams using Chat, Meetings, and File sharing icons

Incoming calls: A popup displays incoming calls so you can answer, ignore, or send to voicemail.

Dialpad/Calling: Access the company directory and place outbound calls

All cloud communications are handled via the Unite icon within the Teams app.

Company Messaging: Use an assigned company phone number to send and receive SMS

SMS: Send and receive SMS between two users

Call History: View call history including all call activity or missed calls

Voicemail: View and manage voicemail transcriptions

Advanced Hunt Groups: Manage hunt groups from within Teams
